Harry is a mess. Several years ago he had love, a love so real and true that it consumed him. Then, the love was gone. His ex-something left and slowly, piece by piece, he fell apart. He retreated in alcohol, drugs, disco, and police work, all to ease the pain. Still the apricot scented nightmares would never fade away. Then one day, a station call came in reporting a dead man hanging from a tree. He travelled to the run down port district of Martinaise, governed by the Wild Pines Dock Workers Union, and began to drink himself into oblivion. One week later he wakes up an amnesiac and meets Kim Kitsuragi, another RCM Officer assigned to the case. With no memory of the case or his life, Harry spends the next week learning about reality, solving the case, and rediscovering the man he used to be.
